RJI Hosts World-Class University Workshop to Discuss Strategies for Improving QS and UI GreenMetric Rankings 

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 — Relawan Jurnal Indonesia (RJI) organized the World-Class University Workshop “Enhancing University Rankings: QS and UI GreenMetric” at RJI’s main office. This activity became a strategic discussion room for academics, university management, and those involved in scientific publishing to understand how to enhance the reputation and rankings of universities at the international level. 

This event was also attended by Muhammad Tanzil Multazam, a member of the RJI Supervisory Board, who emphasized the importance of transforming academic governance and improving the quality of higher education institutions in the face of global competition. 

As the main speaker, the workshop featured Andri Pranolo, Ph.D., Head of the Reputation and Rankings Division at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, who discussed strategies to enhance the institution's reputation using international ranking indicators, especially the QS World University Rankings. In his presentation, he emphasized that improving a university’s ranking requires consistent efforts to enhance academic quality, scientific publications, international collaboration, and the ongoing management of the institution’s reputation. 

Moreover, this workshop also featured Bobur Sobirov, Ph.D., Rector’s Advisor on Rankings, Samarkand Branch of Tashkent State University of Economics, Uzbekistan. In his session, Mr. Bobur Sobirov shared international experience on strategies for enhancing university competition, developing a global network, and implementing sustainability indicators in international rankings such as UI GreenMetric.   

RJI conducted the workshop interactively through presentations, discussion sessions, and the sharing of best practices from various higher education institutions. The participants gained new insights into the strategy for enhancing university competitiveness by improving academic administration, university internationalization, and the development of research and publications, up to the implementation of the concept of a sustainable campus. 

The organization of this event is part of RJI’s commitment to supporting university transformation to international standards by enhancing academic culture, research publication, and institutional reputation. Furthermore, this workshop is expected to expand the relations of collaboration among national and international universities in an effort to enrich the quality of education in Indonesia 

In closing, RJI hopes that the World Class University Workshop will serve as a strategic forum that fosters innovation, collaboration, and concrete steps by universities to enhance their global competitiveness, both through international rankings and the implementation of sustainability principles in campus governance.
